Who is Dog Aide and what do we do?
Dog Aide is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that services the City of Detroit. Our programs are designed to assist with owner retention and shelter intervention. Our group is composed of volunteers from all over Southeast Michigan. No one on our team, including Board Members & Directors receives a wage or salary. Together our dedicated team of volunteers commits a total of more than 100+ hours per week helping to keep Dog Aide running smoothly.
Volunteer duties range from, but are not limited to: hands-on involvement in the community educating owners on how to best care for their pets; delivering food and supplies; responding to calls for assistance that come in to our help line and email; scheduling & transporting dogs to their appointments; management of social media accounts; and training & supporting our volunteer teams.
